You don't use a snorkel during an underwater rugby point, but it's essential for the warm-ups, surface work and breath-hold drills every team does before and during practice. Ours is tough and comfortable, comes in white, black, blue, royal blue, turquoise or pink, and costs US$20.

Face-down warm-up laps watching the bottom, kick technique drills, recovering between sets without lifting your head, and underwater hockey surface practice. Rigid tube, soft silicone mouthpiece and a clip that holds it to your mask strap.
